A client of mine, Courtney, has been training with me for over five years. She has mastered the art of eating well, and being in her second year of medical residency, she has mastered the art of eating well while SERIOUSLY pressed for time and low on sleep! My clients often impress me with their own evolving interest in nutrition and in lifestyle management, their resourcefulness, and I'm always thrilled to hear about what they are eating and what tricks they are learning along the way, outside of our training.

Courtney swears by this "Green Drink" for its detoxifying properties, its energy boost, and its streamlined way of providing a TON of nutrients in a small quantity of consumption. The drink is a twist on Dr. Oz's Green Drink.

Recipe:

Green Drink (Makes 2 small servings or 1 large serving)

1 cucumber 1/2 celery bunch 1 cups spinach ¼ - ½ inch ginger root (grated) 1 apple Juice of 1/2 lemon Juice of 1/2 lime

Blend all ingredients in a blender. Works better if you blend each ingredient as you put it in. Can keep in the fridge for 2-3 days. Can also be frozen.

Possible additions:

To make more palatable: ½ banana (if you use, it will not keep in the refrigerator as long)

To add nutritional value: ½ avocado or ½ cup carrot juice or 1 tsp ground chia seed or flax
