A darling vegan foodie pal Dave Lock, creator of the blog shove it down your piehole, has kindly lent us his recipe for vegan tacos after I salivated over one of his photos on instagram (this happens pretty often). 

Even if you are not a vegetarian or vegan, it is important to explore and exercise eating meat-free these days, at least occasionally.  If you ARE a vegan or vegetarian, well then lucky you, another fab idea for you to file away for when you're craving something bad-ass but wanting to stay relatively good. (!)

Homemade Double Decker Tacos!!

Vegan Ground Round

1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

1 Cup, dried soy round
Boil equal parts water, turn to simmer, add dried soy and seasoning to taste.

Organic Refried Black Beans
Soak 1 cup overnight
Boil in water until soft
Blend with 2 Tbls Oil
1tsp (or more) adobo sauce from chipotles.
Cayenne to taste
Cumin to tast
Salt to taste

Tahini sauce mixed with:
Olive Oil
(all to taste)

-Chopped Spinach

Soft + Hard Tacos


Toss it together the way you like it best.
