The best breakfast would feature a little starch, some complete protein, some fibre, some healthy fat, some antioxidants and be incredibly low maintenance.
It would give you a punch of satisfying energy but not have you crashing simply a couple of hours later. It would stabilize blood sugar levels. It would be so delicious you'd feel you were eating some badass baked good.
Although I've blogged about overnight oats and chia pudding before, this is the perfect combo that I have to share today.
Before bed, take 2 minutes to do the following:
Place 1/3 cut of large flake oats into a jar. Add 1 heaping teaspoon of chia seeds. Add 1/4 cup of frozen raspberries. Add about 1/4 cup each of water and unsweetened almond milk.
If you're jonesing for a little more sweetness, go ahead and add a teaspoon of raw honey. I won't get mad.
Put the lid on, shake it all up (you might need to stir if the frozen berries get all clunked around the seeds with the sticky honey - leave yourself an extra 5 seconds for this el rusho).
Stick it in the fridge.
In the morning you have this oatsy, pudding-y, fruity delicious slosh of nutrition that tastes soooo good heated up. Looks like brains which makes it cool.
